The Long Island Literary Journal is an online publication dedicated to celebrating and showcasing local writers. Words have the power to transform communities and our mission is to give Long Island writers a space to do just that.
In our first year of operation, LI Lit published poetry, prose, and short stories from 50+ Long Island residents. We accept pieces from writers of all ages, education levels, and backgrounds. We aim to celebrate Long Island's diverse group of writers. We edit mostly for clarity and prioritize maintaining the writer's voice. This leads to very diverse publications and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Pull up a chair and read through our latest issue. You might end up reading the work of the next Walt Whitman.
